New facilities at Hendrix College

Pump it up: Wellness and Athletics Center arrow

The newly opened 100,000-square-foot Wellness and Athletics Center (affectionately known as the "WAC") is center court for all fitness and wellness programs, intramural sports, and Warrior athletics. Opened in August 2007, this impressive facility includes an aquatics center with retractable roof, competition and recreational gymnasiums, three-lane indoor track, 26-foot-high climbing wall, state-of-the-art fitness center, and movement studio for dance and group exercise classes. It also houses the Hendrix kinesiology department.

Do it up: Student Life and Technology Center arrow

Scheduled for completion during the 2009-10 academic year, the 80,000-square-foot Student Life and Technology Center will draw the Hendrix community together day and night to meet, eat, log on, kick back, hunker down, recharge, discuss, interact, plan, and just plain bond. A distinguishing feature will be the Educational Technology Center, with high-tech resources available 24/7. The dynamic facility will also house the Odyssey program, student organizations and student media, a religious life and Jewish Cultural Center, dining hall, café, game room, and post office.

Live it up: Student Residences

A new option for on-campus student housing is on the horizon. Scheduled for completion in time for the Fall 2008 semester, a 28-unit complex — consisting of two-bedroom townhouses and three-bedroom flats — will provide homes for 70 students. Features include a laundry facility, meeting area, and outdoor plaza. Plus, each unit will include high-speed Internet connectivity.

With a new art complex, renovated theatre arts center, impressive facilities for life and physical sciences, a resource-full library, inviting classroom buildings, and spectacular grounds, there's a lot to see at Hendrix. We'd love to show you around. Come visit! arrow
